I'm not sure why I wanted post today. I know it was about something, but while I was just thinking about it I realised that it would be slightly odd as there is a change between the person who wrote those last entries and the person writing them now.

I don't know if I could call it change. More along the lines of an awareness within me. I guess I better start at the beginning huh?

A few weeks back I was reading a very detailed account of the social causes of the French Revolution. Somewhere I felt that the commoners were very clear that they wanted freedom, but their problem was they didn't know what they were going to do with it. And when I was writing an essay arguing that very statement, I realized that I was making that very same mistake.

Throughout my adolescence I was always demanding freedom - from religion, from inequality, from the maddening irrationality that seemed to suffocate me. But I had never once questioned what I planned to do with that freedom. Or rather what I could do with that freedom that I can't now.

I have no concrete definition of reality. I even wonder if my dreams are more real than my waking life. But what I do know that is real is that I am free. Have been since the moment I started asking 'Why?'. While it may not be the physical freedom I craved once, it's an emotional independence that I love.

I used to think that freedom meant living without chains. But I now agree with Rousseau when he said that freedom is the power to choose your own chains.

See, this is about the time I should be doing the 'exams are over, joy' post but stupid Anna University had to screw it up by adding a viva for our design exam.

I have nothing against vivas. In fact, I love defending my work. But what I don't like is for Anna University to conduct the viva a week after the exam and NOT DURING THE TIME I SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN TRIVANDRUM!!!!!!!!!

Right, I was planning to go to Trivandrum to work in COSTFORD, Laurie Baker's organisation for cost effective architecture on the 22nd of this month. My viva's on the 23rd.

So I just cancelled my tickets. Hopefully, I'll leave on 23rd night. But it's still annoying.

And I can't believe I finished one year of college already.

And hamdamn, I'm so sorry! I fell asleep! I swear I will try to catch the reruns.

There's a photography class which will begin in August. It's for three months twice a week and 2 hours per class. You will need a slr camera and they will pay for your prints. There will be outdoor shoots as well. The class in somewhere in Cathedral road. It's around 2500 per month for three months. Just comment if you're interested and I'll give you the contact number.

Finally my exams are through!!!!Ok I have my IITHSEE but I'm not going there even if I get through and thats a big if so....Ok so I went to Measi and I was talking to Sujata about possible questions. She said,"Guna got Road Island". And I was like "Rhode island?" And that lead to a very interesing conversation. Anyway finally I was asked to draw a scene at the gate of a Std XII examination centre. Well I got the perspecive, composition and proportion correct. Beyond that it depends on the condition of the scanner and the examiner. My aesthetic sensitivity was blah. I knew we were going to be asked to identify certain buildings, but I didn't expect to identify IITs. My difficulty level was 3.75. Anyway there is a chance that both my board and nata results can be announced on the sme day. I hope that doesn't happen. Other than that, nothing really. Nighty night.

Oh my god. I told Charu that forms were available. I forgot to mention that they were available online. So she went all the way to Measi with Vidya. I went there to get the Measi form and felt so bad when I realised that they came there because of me.

Class is over. Well atleast till May 22. Today was awesome fun. Spend most of the time talking to Rangini and Avanthi.Yeah and then I went for breakfast with Sujata, Shiva and Guna. Yeah I'm still fun form the idlies and curd vadha I had. And I left my book with Sujata. Yeah well it was almost over and let's face it most of them were crap.

Why do I make my life more difficult? I had a plan. I would write my IITHSEE and do journalism. Screw architecture. But then it struck me in class today that I wouldn't be a part of the artistic field. I mean I can continue to pursue my art but not for the next 5 years of my life. And I'm not sure how I feel about that. Maybe the problem is arch classes. Maybe the fact that I surrounded by people who are so focussed to get into CEPT or NID or NIFT is what's getting to me. I mean I know I should forget about all this and concentrate on my work and then decide. But how can I concentrate on something when my goal is not clear. And I actually missed Kick Off yesterday because of all this confusion. Karthik was so cool and he completely got what I was talking about. And he encouraged me to try IIT. Maybe I'm reading too much into this. I mean Ilango did Math. Seemab started her art seriously only for the past 3 years or so. So I have a long time to go. I know this. I just don't get it.
